Friendship

I have a very good friend who tolerated my passion by waiting in the car while I dashed into the quilt shop.

One day I managed to sit her in front of my beloved Bernina and she fell in love.

A couple of months on she has her own beautiful Bernina and a growing stash. A couple of quilts finished, another on the go and plenty more projects planned.

Don't you just love a convert.

To show my support, I attended a raggy quilt class with her. I'd always wanted to make one and had a pile of fabric I was saving for something.

This turned out to be the perfect something.

1 down, 19 - give or take, to go

Here is my first achievement for the year.

This quilt was a block of the month project with my Monday night "not your Nanas sewing group" friends. We each have a turn of choosing a block we get the other

members to sew.

I just had to bind it. Which I finished today.

Just in time, as tomorrow it's my turn again.

Dressed up cushion

I saw a cushion similar to this in a home decor shop for $100.
This one cost me a zip, the dresses are from my scrap bin and I had the background and backing fabrics hanging about.
It's the 2nd one I've made, this one went to another good friend for Christmas.
Christine has the other one.
I do plan to make one for myself.
One day.

What Next?

Well, now that project is finished - by the way, she said it was the best present she has ever been given.

On to the next.

Which is to finish off some of 20 odd projects that I've popped aside over the years.

As I work on those I will show you some of my recently finished quilts.

Like this one I made for my son's very good friends who are about to become young parents.
